Colocar os assuntos em dia – Catch up
“We should get together sometime soon and catch up”, said Nick when he bumped into a friend he hadn’t seen in years.
“A gente precisa se encontrar em breve e colocar os assuntos em dia!”, disse Nick quando encontrou por acaso um amigo que ele não via fazia anos.
Para dizer “colocar o sono em dia” ou “colocar a leitura em dia”, pode-se também utilizar o phrasal verb to catch up on:
Rita is not coming along with us to the club. She needs to catch up on her sleep!
Rita não vai conosco ao clube. Ela precisa colocar o sono em dia!
Sam plans to stay home and catch up on his reading over the weekend.
Sam planeja ficar em casa e colocar a leitura em dia durante o final de semana.
