Unlocking the Code: Exploring AI Slang and Terms

Understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI) content goes beyond mere linguistic curiosity; it offers a gateway to broader conversations surrounding innovation, ethics, and societal impact. But before getting deeper into it, some new technological terms might need an explanation. When it comes to a specific subject such as AI, it is not easy to avoid crossing the limits between slang and jargon, as the field of jargon also evolves quickly and new terms are coined frequently. Keeping abreast of the latest developments, trends and terminologies is a good way to have accurate communication before the terms become effectively rooted in the technological field.

Here are some slang/new words related to Artificial Intelligence that have emerged in our society.

• PROMPT(COMANDO)

You should try to rewrite the prompt more objectively.
Você deveria tentar reescrever o comando de uma maneira mais objetiva.

• ZERO-SHOT (SEM RESPOSTA/ RESPOSTA VAZIA)

I was trying new prompts and I’ve got a zero-shot.
Eu estava experimentando novos comandos e recebi uma resposta vazia.

• TURING TEST (TESTE DE TURING)

Unfortunately, it didn’t pass the Turing test.
Infelizmente, ele/ela não passou no teste de turing.

• FOOM (Fast Onset of Overwhelming Mastery) Also defined as an onomatopoeia “the sound of a muffled explosion” (DECOLAGEM ABRUPTA)

In the world of AI, a foom scenario could potentially lead to impressive advancements.
No mundo da IA, um cenário abrupto de decolagem pode, potencialmente, levar a avanços impressionantes.

• CHATBOT (ROBÔ DE BATE-PAPO)

The chatbot provides customer support services 24/7.
O robô de bate-papo fornece serviços de suporte ao cliente 24/7.

• GEN BOT (BOT (ROBÔ) GENERATIVO)

The new gen bot is not very precise.
O novo bot generativo não é muito preciso.

• HALLUCINATE (RESPONDER ERRADO CONFAIANTEMENTE)

I asked for information about contemporary literature and the chatbot hallucinated.
Eu pedi informações sobre literatura contemporânea e o chatbot respondeu errado e com muita confiança.

• JAILBREAK (QUEBRAR RESTRIÇÕES)

• ABANDONWARE (PROGRAMA ABANDONADO)

Because of its creators, VIsion2AI is an abandonware.

• BLACK BOX (INCOMPREENSÍVEL)

The result I got after using the AI algorithms is a black box.
