Dream English

English teachers are always looking for materials and ideas that they can share with their students. Good materials that can be used in class to motivate students and expose them to English are always welcome.

I’ve recently come across Dream English, a website full of songs, activities and games. The activities are great for singing, sharing and learning. Take a look at https://www.dreamenglish.com/
Although the material is designed for children, it can also be used for adult students, since the songs teach a wide range of vocabulary. I like to remind my adult students – especially beginners – that in English they’re still kids, since they’re starting to learn the language. Singing children’s songs will help them to have fun and learn at the same time. Moreover, they will learn vocabulary that adults don’t usually learn at school.
Dream English has a channel on youtube where you can find lots of nice videos. Check it out:

Here are a few examples of videos that I found particularly interesting:
Body Parts Song For Kids:

The Letter E Song:

The Letter G Song:

Addition Song + 2:

Thank you:

There’s a lot more. You can find many good ideas if you just take the time to browse.
You can show your students the videos, sing some of the songs in class, and encourage them to look for more on their own. After all, teaching students to be independent learners is a very important part of our job, too.
Enjoy!
