Como tornar o aprendizado de Inglês mais significativo?

Essa pergunta tem norteado, não só nossas práticas, mas também a escolha de parcerias de sucesso no ambiente escolar. Pensando nisso, estávamos em busca de um material didático que atendesse às expectativas do processo de ensino-aprendizagem e que contemplasse questões interculturais, desenvolvendo também as competências do século XXI.

Fomos apresentados à coleção Next Station e logo nos encantamos com a proposta: cada unidade do livro nos leva a um país e, por meio de atividades atrativas, o conteúdo é introduzido de forma lúdica e interativa. Um dos materiais integrantes da coleção é um passaporte, que é carimbado no início de cada capítulo, simulando uma visita real ao país estudado. Além disso, ao final da unidade, o aluno faz uma auto avaliação do que aprendeu naquele período. Essa prática valoriza a autonomia das crianças e promove a reflexão sobre os objetivos atingidos.

Para complementar o estudo da língua, adotamos também o livro CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), cuja metodologia integra conteúdo e língua. Assim, o Inglês torna-se uma ferramenta para a construção do conhecimento de outras disciplinas. Além de motivar os alunos, há o desenvolvimento do vocabulário acadêmico e das habilidades de comunicação na segunda língua.

Além de toda essa riqueza de recursos, temos acesso a uma plataforma em que o aluno elabora seu próprio portfolio digital. Além de inserir fotos, é possível fazer o upload de áudios e vídeos autorais que ficarão armazenados para sempre, já que o acesso não expira. Assim, quando crescerem, as crianças poderão relembrar o que estudaram e mostrar aos familiares seus trabalhos.

Um fator fundamental para tomarmos a decisão pela adoção da coleção foram as ferramentas oferecidas ao professor. O livro digital é apresentado durante as aulas para que os alunos acompanhem as atividades, tornando-as mais interativas.
